hal-05707607 Where air pollution and heat overlap : more than 40% of Indians are exposed
Air pollution and extreme heat are beyond isolated concerns. They increasingly coincide, compounding one another’s effects. Yet this overlap is far from uniform. In India, large segments of the population are concentrated precisely in the areas most affected, making environmental burden a deeply spatial and social issue. When examined at finer geographical scales, worrying patterns of exposure emerge that large administrative boundaries (such as states, regions, or districts) may obscure.
